Exhibition Hall No. 6
History of February 7th Memorial Tower
After the foundation of People’s Republic of China, the People’s government had changed the name of Changchun road into February 7th road and built February 7th Square in the venue of Changchunqiao massacre in memory of the martyrs of February 7th Massacre. A 15 m tall wood tower was built in 1951 on centre of February 7th Square. The tower had been rehabilitated by Zhengzhou municipal government in 1963 and the rehabilitation had been completed in less than a hundred days from July 1 to September 29 of 1971 owing to efforts of over 200 constructional workers. As a result, February 7th Memorial Tower has taken on a new look and become a landmark building and name card for Zhengzhou.
